Golden Foot
Monaco Awards
The Golden Foot “Monaco Awards” is a unique annual event which has taken place since 2003 under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. It awards prestigious international prizes to the best champions in the history of football.
The Golden Foot Committee presents Golden Awards each year. These awards, which can only be won once in a lifetime, are for players aged at least 27 who stand out for their individual and team athletic performance, and to football executives chosen for their professional achievements. Awards are made in several categories: “Golden Foot Winner” (male and female), “Golden Foot Legends” and “Golden Foot Prestige”. Every winner is then invited to add their footprints to the “Champions Promenade” in Monaco.
In 2022, to mark the Awards’ 20th anniversary, a special “Golden Foot Honour” award was created in honour of the Sovereign Prince for his continued support of Golden Foot since its creation in 2003.
In 2024, a new “Golden Foot Prodigy” category was introduced for young footballers (under 27) who have achieved outstanding results.
