Former midfielder and World Champion with the National Team in 1982, he will be given the Golden Foot LEGEND Award and he will live his footprint on the famous Champions Promenade in the Principality of Monaco next to those of the other greatest footballers.

The Golden Foot Award Commission notifies that Gabriele Oriali will be given the Golden Foot Legend Award on the 9 th November 2021, during the Champion’s Gala, taking place in the Salle d’Or of Fairmont Monte Carlo.
Gabriele Oriali was a champion, an example even off the pitch and not by chance, in 1999, the well-known Italian sing songwriter Ligabue devoted a song to him “Una Vita Da Mediano” (A life spent as a Midfielder) which became soon a major hit, a metaphor of the football life, how much commitment and effort it takes to get there, making himself available to others.
Meanwhile, until the 31st October, 2021 voting is open to elect the player who will be awarded in 2021 the 19th Golden Foot Award, intended only for footballers still in activity who are 28 years of age or over. The 10-star players in contention are: Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Giorgio Chiellini, Neymar Jr., Mohamed Salah, Sergio Ramos, Sergio Aguero, Gerard Piqué, Karim Benzema, Rumelu Lukaku.

The Champions Promenade in the Principality of Monaco is the only place in the world where the footprints of the greatest champions, who have written the Football history, are gathered. Until today the prize-winners are 90, among them: Maradona, Pelé, Eusebio, Zinedine Zidane, Cristiano Ronaldo, George Best, Ferenc Puskás, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Roberto Baggio. During the Champion’s Gala the Golden Foot Prestige will be awarded, a prize established in 2020 and reserved to a Club president in activity, who stood out for the results achieved with his team.
Conceived and organized by World Champions Club in the Principality of Monaco, the Golden Foot Award was born in 2003 and since the first edition has taken place under the High Patronage of S.A.S Prince Albert II.
