Luka Modirć is a footballer born in Zadar, Croatia, on September 9, 1985. A midfielder with an excellent vision, he is able to perfectly dictate the timing of the game through his remarkable skills in passing. Luka made his debut in the professionals with the Zrinjski Moster shirt, in the Bosnian championship, immediately showing his talent and winning, at the age of 18, the award as the best player of the championship. After an experience also in Croatia, the great leap in quality arrived when, in 2008, he was bought by Tottenham Hotspur, an English team that plays in the Premier League.
In the summer of 2012 the player was bought by Real Madrid. In Spain, Modrić becomes an integral part of the Merengues project, so much so that he is still today, after ten years, the immovable owner of Real’s midfield.
With clubs, Luka Modrić boasts 763 appearances, 92 goals and 120 assists; with the national team, however, the Croatian scored 150 appearances and 21 goals. At the moment, he is in first place by number of appearances for the Croatia shirt and in sixth place in the all-time top scorer with his national team.
