Edison Roberto Cavani Gomez, better know as Edison Cavani, is an Uruguayan footballer born in Salto on February 14, 1987. Complete striker, capable of scoring in all ways and able to score 372 goals (in 645 appearances) with the jerseys of the clubs he played for. He grew up in the Danube youth teams and made his debut in the first team in 2006. Thanks to his talent, he was brought to Europe, precisely in Italy, from Palermo. In Sicily he plays three excellent seasons and, in 2010, he is bought by Napoli. Even with the Napoli shirt he proves to be a real goalscorer so much so that, in 2013, he moved to France, to Paris Saint-Germain, where he will play seven seasons before moving to Manchester, United side.
Cavani has an excellent performance also in the national team; with Uruguay, in fact, he scored 56 goals in 132 appearances. Currently, Cavani is the third Uruguayan for appearances for the national team and the second for the number of goals in the top scorers.
Edinson Cavani won the Golden Foot in 2018.
